Preparation of 5-brominated and 5,5'-dibrominated 2,2'-bipyridines and 2,2'-bipyrimidines

Research has been conducted on the 5-brominated and 5,5'-dibrominated 2,2'-bipyridines and 2,2'-bipyrimidines which are important for the metal-complexing molecular rod preparation. The syntheses of these compounds have been developed and and the results indicate that the compounds have been obtained via direct bromination.
