Abstract

This article examines the significance of the Soviet regime's ideology of democracy. The author, focusing on popular participation in administration, the rule of the proletariat, control over the economy, and workplace democracy, argues Soviet democracy contributed to the demise of the Soviet Union by undermining its political and economic stability.
