Photolysis of ((3-(trimethylsilyl)propoxy)phenyl)phenyliodonium salts in the presence of 1-naphthol and 1-methoxynaphthalene

Research shows that direct photolysis of the iodonium salts, in the presence of 1-methoxynaphthalene, produce three phenylated methoxynaphthalene isomers. Data indicate that the products are radical coupling products derived from the phenyl radical and 1-methoxynaphthalene cation radical.
