Diverse stability and catalytic properties of human tryptase alpha and beta isoforms are mediated by residue differences at the S1 pocket

Research has been conducted on the recombinant human tryptases. The characterization of these tryptases which correspond to alpha and beta isoforms has been carried out and the results indicate that the isoforms have opposite properties accounted for by the residues forming the S1 pocket.
