Abstract
- Giving postmenopausal women an intravenous infusion of a drug called zoledronic acid appears to be as effective as other similar drugs used to treat osteoporosis that must be taken orally every day. This is important because these drugs, which are called bisphosphonates, have side effects that could be minimized if they are only taken once a year.
