Asymmetric total synthesis of (+)-brefeldin A from (S)-lactate by triple chirality transfer process and nitrile oxide cycloaddition

Research has been conducted on the (+)-brefeldin A, a macrolide fungal metabolite. The synthesis of this metabolite has been carried out via different methods including intramolecular ester enolate alkylation and nitra- and intermolecular nitrile oxide cycloaddition and the results are reported.
