Abstract
- HIV patients who live in rural areas are not receiving appropriate treatment, perhaps because they are treated by doctors who have little experience treating HIV patients. In a study of 367 HIV patients in rural areas and 2,806 HIV patients in urban areas, those in rural areas were less likely to take highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) or drugs to prevent Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia.
