Cross [2+2] cycloaddition of bicyclic alkenes with alkynes mediated by cobalt complexes: a facile synthesis of cyclobutene derivatives

Abstract
- Research has been conducted on the bicyclic alkenes. The [2+2] cycloaddition of these alkenes with different alkynes has been investigated in the presence of Co(PPh (sub)3) (sub)2 I (sub)2, PPh (sub)3 and Zn powder in toluene in producing the corresponding exo-cyclobutene derivatives and the details are reported.
