Abstract
- The article examines anti-colonial writings by prominent colonial men and women in New Zealand, spurred by the forced purchase of Maori lands by the British government in the 1850s. Discussion focuses on comparing men's narratives to women's narratives, analyzing ideological and gendered differences and discursive representations of social and geographic place.
