Abstract

Research has been conducted on the platelet activating factor, a potent lipid autocoid which is synthesized and presented on the endothelial cell surface after the thrombin stimulation. Results indicate that the thrombin stimulation of the human umbilical artery endothelial cells activates membrane-associated Ca (super)2+ -independent phospholipase A (sub)2 leading to the increased lysoplasmalogen production level.
