Abstract

Percival Lowell argued in his work 'Mars as the Abode of Life' that Mars was laced with Martian-built water-carrying canals. NASA's Astrobiology Institute reported recently that tiny magnetite crystals were found, identical to those found in the 4.5 billion-year-old Martian meteorite discovered in Antarctica. These magnet-producing bacteria are like those found in marine environments on Earth.
