Evidence for the involvement of Ala 166 in coupling Na (super)+ to sugar transport through the human Na (super)+ /glucose cotransporter

Research has been conducted on the residue 166 located in the putative Na (super)+ transport pathway and sugar binding/translocation pathway. Results indicate that interactions between this residue and the sugar binding/translocation pathway affect the sugar selectivity and transport.
