Abstract

Research into the preparation of thin and ultrathin yttrium-iron-garnet films and the impact of reduced dimensions on the structural and magnetic properties is presented. It was found that a reduction of the thickness produces a gradually rising deviation of the magnetic, magneto-optical and ferromagnetic resistance properties from the standard, bulk-like performance.
