Abstract
- Two studies examined the effect of dominance and power on judgment in an employment interview situation. Sociable applicants were favored by high-dominance interviewers, whereas competent applications were preferred by low-dominance interviewers. Topics discussed include dominance and power motives in interpersonal interaction and clashing motives in dyadic social interaction.
