Abstract

The seismic retrofit of the San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge involves using rubber isolation bearings, 'pipe-in-pipe' bracing, and reinforced column jackets in order to secure that it withstands the active fault directly underneath it. The bridge spans 7,813 feet and slated to be completed by early 2002.
