Abstract

This article examines the influence of sex, health status, and age on physiological responses to exercise training. Findings indicate that unhealthy individuals have more dramatic improvements in blood pressure levels, triglyceride concentrations, and cholesterol levels than healthy individuals and that women have a reduced training response when compared to men.
