Abstract

Research demonstrates the involvement of three biosynthetic genes, pchG, pchH, and pchI in pyochelin biosynthesis and translocation in Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Data show that pchG, with its reductase function and in association with the other genes, catalyzes pyochelin formation in vitro from salicylate, L-cysteine, ATP, NADPH, and S-adenosylmethionine.
