Abstract

Purpose. The aim of the study is to analyse the relationship between the lifestyle of university students in relation to the violence they exert or receive. Design and Method. A cross-sectional descriptive study of young university students with a current or recent partner was conducted. Their lifestyle was analysed by administering a questionnaire that included the Multidimensional Scale of Dating Violence. Findings. The percentage of women in both roles was higher but that of an unhealthy lifestyle (use of tobacco, alcohol, or other drugs, as well as sexual intercourse without condoms) favours violence, regardless of gender. Practice Implications.
