Abstract: Results points out that lateral genetic transfer of nodC and nifH genes across rhizobial species lead to diversification and structuring in rhizobial populations. Genetic analysis reveals a close relationship of rhizobial genes with those of Phaseolus vulgaris symbionts' genes.
