Vertical distribution of zooplankton in canary island waters: implications for export flux

Abstract: The distribution pattern of zooplankton biomass in the Canary Island waters reveal vertical profiles of two sizes, with higher biomass in the shallow layers by night and at a depth of 0-200m by day. The electron transfer system and fluorescence of the biomass are higher by day than in night.
