Babbage's reports net income of $463,000 for its 1st qtr ended Apr 29 1989, a 116.3 rise over the 1st qtr last year, on sales of $18.4 million. Tandy reports earnings of $266.6 million for the nine months ended Mar 31, 1989, an increase of 2.9 percent over the year earlier nine months, on sales of $3.28 billion. Phoenix Technologies reports earnings of $5.2 million for the first half ended Mar 31, 1989, a 76.1 percent rise over the corresponding half last year, on sales of $32.3 million.
