Abstract: Determination of vertical velocity for calculating heat and salt exchanges between the ocean surface and interior is presented. Computation of pseudo-synoptic data set gathered from a non-synoptic data set, along with a geostrophic relocation of the stations, corrects the synopticity errors in hydrographic data.
