Workstation supplier reaps benefits of just-in-time

The Graphics Workstation Div of Tektronix Inc has minimized setup costs and increased profits by implementing manufacturing resource planning and just-in-time production techniques. The system includes: problem solving teams; kanbans for inventory storage; stock rooms located closer to related manufacturing facilities; and daily problem solving evaluations. Tektronix has also increased profits by involving their vendors in the just-in-time system and problem-solving process.
