Abstract

This article investigates the effects of handgrip exercise on pain threshold and blood pressure in a sample of men and women. Findings indicate that baseline blood pressure levels and pain perception differed significantly between groups and only women reported lower pain ratings of a pressure stimulus after submaximal exercise.
