Abstract: Results demonstrate that the structural framework of hexamethylenebis(acetamide) (HMBA) involves transfer of anions facilitating octahedrally coordinated 'node' points of HMBA-linked cations and the highly charged counteranions of suitable size and shape in the framework 'voids'.
