Si extraction from silica in a base polychalcogenide flux, stabilization of Ba(sub)4SiSb(sub)2Se(sub)11, a novel mixed selenosilicate/selenoantimonate with a polar structure

Research presents new findings about an exceptional compound belonging to silicon chalcogenide class of compounds. Data reveal that the quaternary compound containing divalent barium ions and stabilized by the other three metals forms silverlike crystals.
