Two thirds of Canadians believe high-speed chases okay in certain circumstances

A Gallup survey performed Aug 14-21, 2000, found that 66% of Canadians feel that police should be able to engage in high-speed chases under specific circumstances. Of those polled, 22% believe such a chase is permissible in pursuit of a murder suspect, 17% for chasing a criminal, 11% for a bank robber and 9% for drunk drivers.
