Amount and structure of intra- and interspecific genetic variation in the moss genus Polytrichum

Intra- and interspecific genetic variation in the moss genus Polytrichum have been studied relative to amount and to structure. Five congeneric haploid moss species were studied. Morphological conservatism appears not to be caused by lack of genetic variability and evolutionary potential.
