Abstract: The drug mycophenolate mofetil can be used instead of cyclophosphamide when treating patients with lupus kidney disease. In a study of 42 patients, half took one drug and half the other, both in combination with prednisolone. Most of the serious side effects occurred in patients taking cyclophosphamide.
