Abstract

No reduction in the occurrence of preterm delivery or other perinatal outcomes was observed in pregnant women treated for asymptomatic bacterial vaginosis. Metronidazole administration to 953 pregnant women did not reduce preterm delivery, intraamniotic or postpartum infections, neonatal sepsis, or requirement for neonatal intensive care for the infant .
