This article outlines how coaching has been used to support professionals in child welfare settings, providing a comprehensive overview of empirical evidence of the effect of coaching related to individual attitudes and skills and organizational outcomes. Using best practices for evaluating research developed for systematic reviews, an in-depth synthesis of how coaching is situated within the broader literature of implementation science identifies opportunities for considering coaching beyond the narrow focus on sustaining evidence-based interventions.
