Abstract

Results show that in the process of catabolic adaptation to redox conditions Escherichia coli uses the pyruvate formate-lyase and the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex under microaerobic conditions. Data indicate that the global regulatory system ArcAB controls the above two operons during microaerobiosis.
