Abstract
- Pichia membranifaciens killer toxin is discussed. P. membranifaciens CYC1106 is a yeast isolated from fermenting olive brines. It has been found that it binds mostly to the (1--6)-beta-D-glucan of the cell wall of a sensitive yeast (Candida boidinii IGC 3430). The toxin has maximum killer activity where NaCl is present.
