Abstract
- A 45-year-old woman was admitted to a hospital with the symptoms of Pancoast syndrome. This syndrome is often caused by tumors in the lungs and a chest X-ray showed a mass at the top of her right lung. However, her symptoms had begun three years before her admission. For this reason, it seemed unlikely that the tumor was malignant. A biopsy of the mass revealed that the mass was a fibromatosis. This is a relatively benign tumor that does not usually spread to other parts of the body. She was treated with radiation therapy.
