Abstract
- The American Lung Association, the American Petroleum Institute, the Natural Resources Defense Council and the oil industry are all asking for the repeal a provision of the Clean Air Act to protect drinking water from MTBE contamination. The provision requires the reformulation of gasoline through the addition of oxygenates which led producers to triple the amount of MTBE being added.
