Correlation of helicopter rotor tip vortex measurements

Results show that rotor-generated tip vortices are nonaxisymmetric in structure and no changes are observed in the strength of the vortices through all ages. Data further indicate that there is a logarithmic increase in growth of the viscous core whereas the core swirl velocity decreases logarithmically.
