Abstract

Results reveal that in Pseudomonas aeruginosa both ATP and GTP are synthesized via succinyl coenzyme A synthetase using succinyl-CoA, inorganic phosphate, and an equimolar mixture of ADP and GDP. Data indicate that although the enzyme can synthesize other nucleotide phosphates, it preferentially synthesizes ATP and GTP.
