Abstract
- This review presents data on two newly emerging chytridiomycosis and ranaviral wildlife infectious diseases and their impact on the global decline of amphibian populations. Amphibians affected are the golden toad of Costa Rica and seven Australian species including gastric-brooding frogs.<br />We review recent research on the pathology, ecology, and biogeography of two emerging infectious wildlife diseases, chytridiomycosis and ranaviral disease, in the context of host-parasite population biology.
