Abstract
- International Specialty Products' (ISP) unsolicited merger proposal with Dexter Corp has been unanimously turned down by the specialty chemical manufaturer's board of directors. ISP Chmn Samuel J. Heyman had earlier submitted a $45-per-share bid, about $934 million, for each Dexter share. In the board's response to the proposal, Dexter Chmn K. Grahame Walker called the bid an 'opportunistic' move to purchase the company at an undervalued amount.
