Abstract
- The chapter discusses the life of Hollis A. Wilbur and his wife and children during his post in the Foreign Department of the International Committee Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) in Kobe, Japan. Topics include the family's arrival in Japan, work with the YMCA, American and Japanese friends, summer holidays, a forced sick leave back to the United States, and finally an invitation from the National Committee of China for Wilbur to head the City Division of the Chinese National Committee.
