Abstract
- HBL, a hemolytic enterotoxin, is broadly distributed in Bacillus cereus group species regardless of environment. The prevalence was determined in all species other than B. anthracis. PCR and Southern analysis were used with confirmation by partial sequencing of 18 strains. Consequences for food safety should be considered.
