Reduction of adenosine-5'-phosphosulfate instead of 3'-phosphoadenosine-5'-phosphosulfate in cysteine biosynthesis by Rhizobium meliloti and other members of the family Rhizobiaceae

The article discusses cloning and sequencing of Rhizobium meliloti genes involved with cysteine biosynthesis to display homology to Escherichia coli genes. Experiments to demonstrate the ability of R.meliloti to use APS in producing free sulfate are analyzed.
