Partners in research

A number of initiatives designed to involve students in scientific research have been established. The Kansas Collaborative Research Network, a virtual community linking researchers, teachers and students, has established the Tardigrade Biodiversity Project. This involves students learning about and producing new knowledge about the microscopic, aquatic invertebrates of the phylum Tardigrada. This project encourages students to express their understanding of science by undertaking their own research.
