Abstract

The state of public health and population growth in the Americas has improved overall but a closer analysis reveals that some areas still have to make progress. In particular, the Andean Area, Central America and Mexico still have high birth rates compared to North America. When life expectancies are reviewed, the Andean Area, Brazil, the Caribbean and Central America lag significantly.
