Abstract

A study was conducted to test whether atrial natriuretic peptide clearance receptor participates in modulating endothelial permeability. Endothelial cell monolayer of rat coronary endothelium was utilized to determine albumin flux. Results indicated that the ANP-C receptor influenced permeability decreases in coronary artery endothelial cell monolayers. Findings also showed that isoproterenol had no effect on cGMP.
