The frontier-free world of the Internet is causing problems for legislators and lawyers around the world who are trying to protect global copyright and trademarks. Most laws are national and are difficult to apply in cyber-space. Even if international agreement is reached on issues such as copyright protection, some countries will stay outside the treaty, rendering it valueless.
