Abstract

Tunneling measurements conducted on superconductor-insulator-superconductor break junctions are presented. The measurements were conducted on underdoped, optimally-doped and overdoped single crystals of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8+delta. The analysis of the quasiparticle branch suggests the existence of preferential tunneling along the lobe directions of the d-wave gap. The Josephson current for the overdoped Bi-2212 high-temperature superconductor was measured as a function of junction resistance.
