Abstract

A study was conducted to examine the I-V characteristics of high-temperature yttrium barium copper oxide (YBCO) dc superconducting quantum interference devises (SQUIDs) which were placed within the hole of the pickup coil of a direct coupling magnetometer. Experimental results show that the fabricated YBCO dc SQUIDs have a transmission geometry similar to thin parallel strips and have a wide slit between them. On the other hand, it was noted that the magnetometer has a high field sensitivity of 100 ft/Hz(super 1/2).
