Abstract
- Research was conducted to evaluate the defects during the fabrication of single and multi-strand wire, particularly superconductive NbTi/Cu wire. An approach using superconducting quantum interference device magnetometry and low-frequency current injection was developed for the study. Results illustrate that it is not practical to detect inclusions that may be present during the drawing process. It is not clear, however, at what stage of the process the observed nonlinear behavior is introduced.
