Abstract

An amorphous phase epitaxy technique was used to prepare the bi-axially-oriented thin films of Cu1-xTl(sub x)(Ba,Sr)2Ca2Cu3O10-y on SrTiO3 substrates. The deposition of the amorphous phase was done by sputtering on the substrate and annealed in a thallium atmosphere at -885 degress C for 50 minutes. The results showed that their T(sub c) values were 100-113 K and higher than those of the YBa2CuO7-y system. The high J(sub c) values were consistent with the low superconducting anisotropy of Cu1-xTl(sub x)-1223 and its high T(sub c).
